My version

Among all the Hamlet I have watched in the film version. Now I need to create my own version of Hamlet. My version is rather simple and easy because the setting is in the school. Inspiring by the modern one in the New York City, I put my location to the school because I knew school pretty well rather than other places. Moreover, when I have seen the modern one, I have a strong feeling of doing one in the school. It then comes to the point that I want to do a realistic play that relates to our life, but in Shakespeare form. The first scene that I am going to put is in the morning meeting with all the students and faculty around in dining hall. The lighting will be bright, stronger in yellow and white because of the shocking information, but in a good way(marriage). However, Prince Hamlet might be in the bathroom, listening about the outside situation. His light can be darker and dimmer. To make the situation more realistic, I will let the students wear like normal students costumes. Maybe some special costumes for the students to emphasize they are the students. However, Claudius and Gertrude should wear similar costumes in order to emanate the marriage of the two people. Or maybe they can wear corresponding color costumes. For example, Gertrude can wear a light blue dress or suit. On the other hand, Claudius can wear a dark red color suit to indicate their relations and also his aggressiveness. The headmaster King Hamlet was being killed in his office, and his brother Claudius and Gertrude are the two who announce the situation and the marriage of the two people. For Prince Hamlet, his cloth can be black and grey to represent his emotion in madness. The child is called Hamlet, and he has schizobullia. So that the emotions change can make sense. From sadness, questioning, frightening, toward agreeing, revenging and scheming the plans. If there is an exchanging personality of Hamlet. That will make sense. From that time period, his personality altered completely. The second scene I want to choose is ‘To be or not to be’ , this scene will happen in the way to Dunkin Donuts. This play can be set in the autumn in which to show the dreadful of Hamlet, and also he made the decision of killing Claudius. The withered and dying leaves made him feel sad and then his monologue comes from there, but when he saw the gunshot news from the television, so he decided to revenge for his father. The lighting for scene two can be a little dark because of his depressed emotion. On the one hand, to blend the desperate well in the scene, there can be some wind sounds on the background. Also, When he is walking to Dunkin Donuts, he can saying to himself because he is walking alone, and that’s more of realistic to me. Also, adding some traffic and cars sound can make it even more realistic.
